Right Love, Wrong Time

You were the best.

Always there for me when I needed you.

Always listening to my fears and doubts

You always have a way to sooth my anxiety

Telling me that's everything's going to be okay

Never once, have you raised your voice at me.

Even when I am frantic and restless.

Calm and collected,

You handled me with grace.

Your kind of love was new to me.

Never mistreated, always gifted,

With kindness and compassion.

But I wasn't ready.

Not for a love likes yours.

Inside, I'm still lost.

A little girl who doesn't know what she wants.

I messed up.

And the best way was to let you go.

So you can be with someone who gives you the love that you deserve.

It's a hard pill to swallow,

Knowing that I was the toxic one

I never meant to hurt you.

But I'm sorry you were the one that had to take the bullet.

I have a long ways to go yet.

You were the right love, just in the wrong time.
