It's the Journey

So it's been about 6 months since I took a leap of faith. It was the day packed up as much as I could in my car, said goodbye to my friends and family, and drove 1,734 miles to the golden state, as we like to call it, California. Many people told me how brave it was, to move to a strange land, with no friends or family at your side. To me, it was an easy to decision. But the hard part isn't the move. But the stay itself. Because at first, you get a rush of excitement and longing for adventures. And you explore new places and get accustomed to your new life. Then once that thrills dies down. You are face with what you have wanted. Living in California, and staying.

There will be all kinds of emotions that you will experience, like getting homesick, feeling lonely, and lost. But don't let the hard times stop you from living in the big cities. It's okay. It's okay to miss your family so much, especially when you see people with their moms and dad. It's okay to cry. It's okay to call them in the middle of the night, because you just couldn't sleep. And you really needed someone to talk to. And feeling lost? Who doesn't feel that. I know I know. Feeling lost is perfectly normal. Because we are humans. Especially in our 20's we still have a lot to figure out. It can be harder when you don't have your close ones with you. But that's the point. You will be so lost, that by the time you figure yourself out. You will be that much stronger.

I'm a firm believer that everything happens for a reason. And that reason being, being alone. You are face to conquer these fears, doubts alone. You are forced to handle them in a way you never thought you had to before. I mean of course, you can always reach out and call them or text. But it's not the same as having your supporters right there beside you. That's why you have to learn to cope with it. For example, I like to write. So I would always write in my journal. I also like to play my guitar every once in awhile. It's nice because it helps me express my emotions and what I'm feeling inside. I also try to help others. Helping others, is one of the best forms of recieving happiness, in my opinion.
